Ethiopia's history is constantly under attack these days to undermine its legitimacy as a nation and to sap public faith in its values and culture. The Biden administration is holding a ‘Democracy Summit on December 9 and 10.
The motto of the summit is from President Joseph Biden’s statement at the February 2021 Munich Security Conference: “Democracy doesn’t happen by accident. We have to defend it, fight for it, strengthen it, renew it.”
However, the Biden administration has shown distaste against the newly elected Ethiopian government and is attempting to apply direct and indirect intervention to induce regime change to a democratically elected government.
This hypocrisy has made Ethiopians furious and they are expressing their disappointment by protesting in different major cities around the world, including voting to unseat elected leaders that are blurring the fight for justice.
Concerned Ethiopians (CE) is reminding the United States administration to support activity that will encourage efforts to promote democracy, and not allow activities to divide Africans against one another using ethnicity, religion, class, or any other divisions.
